Mangistau region in Rally-raid "Rally Kazakhstan-2017" represents three crews of racers.
The opening of the fifth stage took place on the Aktau embankment of the 15th microdistrict. Akim of Mangistau region Yeraly Tugzhanov took part in the opening ceremony. Inhabitants and guests of Aktau, not indifferent to motorsport, were the group of support for the riders. The first stage of the rally took place in the Northern Forest of St. Petersburg, the second stage - in Dubai, the third - in Abu Dhabi, the fourth - in Qatar. For the V-th stage, the Mangistau region was chosen. "Here, nature itself has created the necessary climatic and geographic conditions for large-scale automobile rallies. In addition, there will be no problems with logistics, as the Caspian port, equipped with modern equipment, is nearby. “The region is suitable for cross-race competitions. Security is provided by specially trained brigades, local ambulance stations and Emergency Situations Department in case of unforeseen situations”, said Marat Abykaev, president of the Automobile Transport Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “This is a huge achievement not only for us, as for the organizers, but for the whole country - to be part of the international calendar for the rally-raids of the FIA. We have been moving towards this goal for several years. And finally, for the first time in the history of our country, the right to hold one of the stages of this prestigious World Cup in Kazakhstan was achieved. I hope that in consequence of our great cooperation, experience and efforts of each specialist in this race, we will be able to add positive news about Kazakhstan and make one of the most colorful and interesting stages of the World Cup in rally-raids."
Six crews stick up for Kazakhstan. The regional club AktauMotorSport put forward three crews of riders for the competition. Crew 216 Mitsubishi Evo consisting of Andrei Drozd and Maxim Lopukhin. Crew 222 Nissan Patrol y62 consisting of Cyril Chernenkov and Alexei Moon. Crew 302 Mitsubishi Evo consisting of Alexander Sukhov and Azamat Munalov. All three crews of our team have successfully passed technical inspection, which is a huge step, because we prepared cars for the competition all year round. The cars are in full combat readiness. All three cars were assembled almost from scratch. One car turned over at the last stage, so we had to change the bodywork completely. Rally is a men's sport. Our main task is to reach the finish line. We will do our best to fulfill this task, said Alexander Sukhov. Competitions will be held in the categories: T1 - improved production cars; T2 - cars with little difference from production models; T3 - light vehicles and the National class. In the rally-competitions 28 crews from 15 countries of the world will take part.
After the official start and the first stage, the participants will go to Kendirli, on the coast of the Caspian Sea. The fifth and sixth stages of the competition will be held on May 25 and 26 in Aktau.
Based on the results of the rally, the winners will receive cups, medals and a respectful rating of fans of auto-motorsport!
